TOP TIPS FOR SALON SUCCESS!

By Laura Dutton

Whether you’re running a high street beauty salon, an exclusive spa retreat or a specialist aesthetics clinic, a good dress code will help your staff radiate professionalism and instill confidence from your customers.
Here are five top tips on dressing your team for success.

1. START AS YOU MEAN TO GO ON

As soon as you recruit a new member of staff, be clear about your dress code policy, this can help avoid embarrassing clashes in the future. If you are providing them with a uniform, ensure they know that it is their responsibility to turn up for work with their uniform clean and pressed with a high level of personal hygiene before you’re willing to let them loose on your clientele.

2. ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL

When providing your staff with uniforms, do make sure you ask them what size they take. There is nothing worse than bulging buttons and unsightly overhangs to create a bad impression - especially so in the beauty industry, where the focus is on looking your best.

Premier’s beauty tunics come in sizes 6- 24.

Consider your branding, interiors and soft furnishings, all should have a cohesive colour theme and this also applies to your staff uniform. Choose a uniform that complements the rest of your colour scheme. Use two colours and work them through everything you do and your business will start to benefit from brand recall.

Premier’s beauty tunics and tabards come in up to 18 colours.

4. PRACTICALLY PERFECT IN EVERY WAY

You need to consider the practicality of a uniform; will it hinder anyone’s ability to do their job? What is suitable for a nail technician performing intricate artistry at a desk may not be suitable for a sports masseuse who has physical demands. Sparkle and bling is great for some, whereas plain and practical is necessary for others.

5. TIME TO GET PERSONAL

For an extra professional touch, why not get team member’s names embroidered on to their uniform? This level of personalisation is great for customers who may need reminding of the name of their favourite stylist from time to time. It’s also a great way to show that you are investing in that person and that you consider them to be permanent member of your team.

Premier’s entire beauty and healthcare collection is suitable for print and embroidery applications.
